Sunday Afternoon

This afternoon was another one full of amazing scenery with beautiful weather all day. Shortly after having a traditional American lunch consisting of fried chicken and fries a group of us took a short one and a half mile walk down the road from Eagles Nest to Solola, again filled with many awesome photo ops. We walked around the main square through a multitude of shops selling anything from stereos to red bananas (not sure what those were). Not long after making a stop a local grocery store our group started back towards Eagles Nest so we could get back in time and hopefully practice a little before playing a futball match (soccer for you in the states) with some of the kids in the orphanage (picture above). This quickly turned into a competitive game involving almost everyone on our mission team and seemingly every young child within ten miles (60-70 children) and put a strain on the space we had. We finished the day off with a group time of worship and open prayer to God during which many in the group shared their feelings and hopes in what this experience could hold for them and out team as a whole. I personally am thanking and praising God for the excellent day that he provided today coming off of a very long and challenging day of travel yesterday and will continue to pray for the ministry he has given us the opportunity to provide.

Hello Grace Team,

The updates on the blog are great. It makes us feel as though we are there with all of you. We continue to pray for all of you daily and ask our Almighy God to use you to minister to all you come in contact with!

-Tami and Ashley: We love you and look forward to hearing from you when you get a chance. The house has not burnt down and everyone is fine.

Thanks to a team of angels.

It is so hard to be thousands of miles away from a child that you love with all your heart, but it is comforting to know that there are angels who are visiting these children and giving them the extra love and attention that they need.

My grandson is at the Eagle's Nest, he is the little boy with all the curls, (Jose Pablo) Nathan.
Please tell him that his Gammie is missing him so much and can not wait to see him again. Also tell him that there are lots of people here at home waiting on him and loving him with all our hearts, expecially his Gammie and Papa.

I will continue to pray for your journey. I know that you will receive many blessings and this will be a trip that you will never forget. Love to you all, Nathan's Gammie

We are so thankful for the blog and look forward to updates at least daily. It's great to hear from different people each time and get a look into what's impacting them the most and what God's doing in their lives. You are all in our thoughts and prayers constantly!

Chris, everyone's fine here. Hug a baby for me!

Like so many others we love hearing what is happening at EN and are praying constantly for you all. We love seeing so many non-Grace families who are loving their children and grandchildren through you too! WOW, doesn't it make the world feel so much smaller! Love seeing so many children eagerly reaching out to you as you reach out to them!

-Julie - just to let you know, we haven't sold the house yet :( Taking down picture in front room today, adding shower downstairs Wednesday, wanted to warn you :)
Sorry Cubs lost yesterday :(
WE LOVE YOU, MISS YOU but are so glad you have this opportunity

We're so proud of all of you... being way out of your comfort zone(first time out of the country for many of you) and loving the Lord through your obedience to humbly serve! We continue to pray for each of you by name... it has been such a blessing for me and the boys to do that : )

Jordan... great write-up : ) and thanks for loving on my little girl.. crazy to think in a few weeks you'll hold her again except at home!

Also, just wanted to encourage whoever does the next post or sometime this week to comment on the orphanage/El Nido and share a few pics of our group with the babies... there are many Eagles Nest families watching the blog and would be so encouraged in their adoption to see you all loving on their children.

Looking forward to hearing ALL that the Lord is doing in and through the Grace team!!
